Premier Hiking: “Angel’s Landing” Truly a place where angels have walked, “Angel’s Landing” is the premier, high-look-down, hike of the park. This hiker stands atop “Scouts Lookout” which is a prelude-hike to the even more breath taking view from “Angels Landing”. In the last leg of the hike, brave hikers must gather the courage to climb to the pinnacle and cross “The Bridge”. From there, it is an uphill climb aided in part by chains and certainly not for the faint of heart. Once the hiker reaches the top they find themselves on a gigantic plateau overlooking the narrow canyon 1,500 feet above the river and road below. |

“Observation” Just one more of the thousands upon thousands of magnificent views in Zion National Park and the surrounding area. This hike will take you high above the red sandstone of “Angels Landing”, and other stone giants, to the white Navajo Sandstone at the very top pinnacle of the canyon. The trail also serves as a prelude to the “East Rim”, “East Mesa”, “Deer Trap”, and “Cable Mountain” trails. This advanced hike will require water, and a lunch is suggested because the average hiking time is about 5 hours (round-trip). This trail will give the hiker a variety – from the switchbacks at the trail head, (which serve as a prelude for “Hidden Canyon” & “Weeping Rock”), to a journey into the sandstone slot canyons. Then up, up, and away until the Summit opens to a great mesa of exploration-land and glorious views. |

“The Subway” This is a challenging hike that takes 6-9 hours and many say it is the “BEST hike in Zion Park”, however it is not in the main canyon of Zion. Because it is our favorite hike, our family has put together a web site to tell you all about it. |
